Moreton Island
Moreton Island is a small island just southeast of Queensland and is made entirely of sand and home to the largest man-made reefs in the world. This destination is great as a day trip from Brisbane. While frequented by backpackers and locals, if you’re interested in exploring more you can also find glamping cabins and campsites. You can try your hand at sandboarding on the Big Sand Dunes or go swimming in the Champagne pools. With 14 sunken vessels, the Tangalooma Wrecks is an ideal location to snorkel, dive, or kayak.
Umpheiston Sinkhole
Located in Mount Gambier, this fantasy garden became the Umpheiston Sinkhole as the result of a collapsed cave that was transformed in 1886 into today’s beautifully manicured greenery. Imagine walking through the garden of flowers and fountains while looking up at the sky above.
Noosa Everglades
Once you’ve finished taking the forest walks and laying on the beach, its time for some adventure. Few travelers know about the canoe trips they can take up the Noose Everglades where they can set up camp in the wilderness.
